Federal Subsistence Board to hold teleconference on Fisheries Special Action Requests FSA20-01, FSA20-02, and FSA20-03 regarding the Kuskokwim River Chinook Salmon Fishery

The Federal Subsistence Board (Board) will hold a teleconference on May 1, 2020, to take action on Temporary Fisheries Special Action Requests FSA20-01, FSA20-02, and FSA20-03. The teleconference will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. or until the Board completes its work.

Reminder: April 20 is the deadline to submit proposals to change Federal subsistence fish and shellfish regulations

The Federal Subsistence Board (Board) is accepting proposals through April 20, 2020 to change Federal regulations for the subsistence harvest of fish and shellfish on Federal public lands and waters for the 2021-2023 regulatory years (April 1, 2021 – March 31, 2023). The Board will consider proposals to change Federal subsistence fish and shellfish seasons, harvest limits, methods, and means related to taking of fish for subsistence uses, as well as customary and traditional use determinations.

WRANGELL, Alaska – Wrangell District Ranger Clint Kolarich, under authority delegated by the Federal Subsistence Board, is closing the May 15 − June 20, 2020 Federal subsistence Chinook Salmon fishery in the Stikine River.

The Southeast Alaska Subsistence Regional Advisory Council will meet March 24-26, 2020 at the Central Council Tlingit & Haida–Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall in Juneau. The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. on March 24, and at 9:00 a.m. on March 25-26.

A public hearing is scheduled for March 16, 2020, from 6:00–8:00 p.m., at the Yupiit Piciryarait Cultural Center at 420 Chief Eddie Hoffman Highway in Bethel to receive testimony on temporary special action requests received by the Federal Subsistence Board (Board).
