Federal Subsistence Regional Advisory Councils to hold meetings statewide

Public is welcome and encouraged to participateThe Federal Subsistence Regional Advisory Councils will meet late September through early-November to discuss proposals to change Federal subsistence fish and shellfish regulations for the 2019-2021 regulatory years and nonrural determination proposals, as well as other issues affecting subsistence in their regions. Bull Moose harvest quota established for Unit 5A, except Nunatak Bench

YAKUTAT, Alaska – Yakutat District Ranger Lee Benson, under authority delegated by the Federal Subsistence Board, has established the moose harvest quota for Unit 5A, except Nunatak Bench, at 30 bulls west of the Dangerous River and 30 bulls east of the Dangerous River. This quota is effective for the 2018 Federal Subsistence moose season, which is October 8 to November 15, west of the Dangerous River, and September 16 to November 15, east of the Dangerous River, or until the quota is met. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) has established the same quotas in Unit 5A for the State season, effective October 15, extending through the end of the State season on November 15. The State and Federal quotas are not cumulative.

2018 Yukon River Fall Salmon Fishery News Release # 61 - District 2 Commercial Period 21 and Subsistence Schedule

Districts Affected: Lower Yukon AreaDistrict 2 Commercial Fishing:Commercial fishing will be open for one period in District 2, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, September 10. This will be a 6-hour commercial fishing period with gillnets restricted to 6-inch or smaller mesh size. Commercial fishermen need to confirm their buyer prior to fishing. A reminder to fishermen that the Andreafsky River is closed to commercial fishing.
