The DOI FY2023 AFR [pdf]
 provides important financial and performance information for the Department of the Interior (DOI).  It is DOI's principal publication to Congress and the American people on the stewardship, management, and leadership of the public funds and resources entrusted to us.  For the 27th straight year, the consolidated financial statements in this report received a clean (unmodified) audit opinion.  The FY 2023 Independent Auditors' Report identified three material weaknesses and one significant deficiency related to Controls over Financial Reporting, Inadequate Review and Update of Accounting Policies and Guidance, Inadequate Monitoring of Assets Constructed by Other Federal Agencies, and Entity Level Controls.  We are committed to continuous improvement of our financial management activities and resolving these issues in FY 2024.
