"I would like to express my deepest and sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Rita Stinson of Estate La Grange, swept away by rushing flood waters this past Wednesday. The U.S. Virgin Islands has been hit with numerous storms this season causing devastation throughout its islands.  I commend Governor deJongh for his leadership and response and most especially the efforts of the Virgin Islands Police Department, the St. Croix Rescue, and the U.S. Coast Guard for their hard work assisting families during these difficult and trying times. Our thoughts are with the people of the Virgin Islands as we pray for a prompt and safe recovery."
