Non-Leather Flight Boots

This page provides official guidance on approved non‑leather flight boots for DOI and USFS aviation personnel. It is intended to supplement—not replace—the requirements outlined in the IALSE Handbook.

Flight boots previously listed on legacy U.S. Army (USAARL) approved boot lists remain authorized for use as long as they are serviceable. However, the USAARL list is no longer maintained and does not include newly approved models.

Newly approved flight boots are now identified through the Air Force Safe‑to‑Fly (StF) Boot List. The current Air Force StF Boot List can be accessed below:
