The Office of Aviation Services Alaska Regional Office consists of the Regional Director, two program divisions, and management support staff. Functions and major activities parallel the OAS Headquarters, but include the additional fleet aircraft maintenance facility operations. The two program divisions have functional responsibilities for quality control and safety management within the Region with primary services to Interior bureaus in Alaska and Hawaii.

DOI Airport Directory (DAD) - Approved Unprepared Airport Landing Areas for Point To Point Operation
The AKRO Aircraft Maintenance Division is a FAA Certified Repair Station, CL4R106M, performing maintenance, inspection, overhaul and modification of DOI Alaska Fleet aircraft. The Division is staffed by a Supervisor, Shop Inspector, Parts Specialist and five FAA Certified Mechanics. The facility is located on the south shore of Lake Hood in Anchorage, Alaska. In addition to maintenance at the Lake Hood facility, the Aircraft Maintenance Division performs maintenance at remote locations in support of U.S. Fish and Wildlife and National Park Service air operations.
The AKRO Fleet Services coordinates maintenance and modification of DOI Alaska Fleet aircraft, using primarily private sector vendors backed up by a small in house work force. Fleet Services also furnishes technical representatives for fleet replacement and refurbishment contracts. In addition, Fleet Services works with the FWS and NPS Regional Aviation Managers to promote safe efficient, effective use of the DOI aviation resources in Alaska.
