EBSCO's online databases provide access to thousands of journals and reference sources in a wide variety of subjects. EBSCO's leading online full-text databases offer access to articles from peer-reviewed journals published by many of the world's most prestigious publishers. These databases offer a convenient way for users to search for abstracts and full-text articles from a large collection of publications in one easy process. All of the databases listed below are fully searchable with EBSCO's easy-to-use patron interface which allows the researcher to search one or more of these databases at the same time.

Academic Search Premier

Designed specifically for academic institutions, Academic Search Premier is a multi-disciplinary database containing full-text for more than 3,100 journals, including nearly 2,700 peer-reviewed titles. In addition, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 8,500 journals. This scholarly collection offers information in nearly every area of academic study including computer sciences, engineering, physics, chemistry, language and linguistics, arts and literature, medical sciences, ethnic studies, and many more. Academic Search Premier is an enormous collection of the most valuable peer-reviewed journals, offering critical information from many sources unique to this database. Examples of titles offered in Academic Search Premier include: American Historical Review, American Journal of Political Science, American Libraries, American Sociologist, British Journal of Psychology, British Journal of Sociology, Central European History, Contemporary Literature, Early American Literature, English Language Notes, Family Relations, International Journal of Psychology, Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, Journal of Aesthetics & Art Criticism, Journal of Counseling & Development, Journal of Education, Political Science Quarterly, Journal of General Psychology, Journal of Genetic Psychology, Journal of International Affairs, Journal of Learning Disabilities, Journal of Marriage & Family, Journal of Politics, Journal of Psychology, Journal of Social Psychology, Library Journal, Social Forces, Sociological Review, Theological Studies, Women's Studies, etc. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further back are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles. Most full-text titles are available in native (searchable) PDF, or scanned-in-color.

MasterFILE Premier

MasterFILE Premier contains full text for nearly 1,700 periodicals covering general reference, business, health, education, general science, multicultural issues and much more. This database also contains full text for nearly 500 reference books and over 164,400 primary source documents, as well as an Image Collection of over 502,000 photographs, maps and flags. MasterFILE Premier offers PDF backfiles (as far back as 1975) for key publications including American Libraries, Foreign Affairs, History Today, Judaism, Library Journal, National Review, Saturday Evening Post, etc.

Legal Collection

Centered on the discipline of law and legal topics, Legal Collection is a collection of respected, scholarly peer-reviewed publications including law journals, documents, and case studies. This database is an authoritative source for information on current issues, studies, thoughts and trends in the legal world. Legal Collection offers full text for more than 300 of the world’s best law journals. This database provides information centered on the discipline of law and legal subjects such as criminal justice, international law, federal law, organized crime, medical, labor and human resource law, ethics, the environment and much more. Full-text journals contained in this database include American Journal of Criminal Law, California Law Review, and many more. In addition, indexing and abstracts are provided for all journals in the collection. The majority of full-text titles are available in native (searchable) PDF, or scanned-in-color. Full-text information in this database dates as far back as 1965.

GreenFILE

GreenFILE offers well-researched information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and general interest titles includes content on the environmental effects of individuals, corporations, and local and national governments, and what can be done at each level to minimize these effects. Multidisciplinary by nature, GreenFILE draws on the connections between the environment and a variety of disciplines such as agriculture, education, law, health and technology. Subjects covered include global climate change, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. The database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 880,000 records, as well as Open Access full text for more than 13,000 records.

Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts

Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (LISTA) indexes more than 560 core journals, nearly 50 priority journals, and 125 selective journals, plus books, research reports and proceedings. Subjects include librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more. Coverage in the database extends back as far as the mid-1960s. EBSCO Publishing’s intends to provide access to LISTA on a continual basis at www.libraryresearch.com. 

Science and Technology Collection

Science & Technology Collection contains more than 830 leading full-text journals and indexing and abstracts for more than 1,740 other publications. Subjects include aeronautics, astrophysics, biology, chemistry, computer technology, geology, aviation, physics, archaeology, marine sciences and materials science. This collection contains many scholarly journals including Advances in Physics, American Scientist, Archaeoastronomy, Astronomy & Geophysics, Civil Engineering, Engineering Management Journal, Journal of Aerospace Engineering, Journal of Architectural Engineering, Journal of Applied Microbiology, Journal of Mathematical Logic, Journal of Theoretical & Computational Chemistry, Molecular Physics, Plant Biotechnology Journal, Quarterly Review of Biology, Space Communications, Spatial Vision, and many more.

OpenDissertations

OpenDissertations is an open-access database built to assist researchers in locating both historic and more current dissertations and theses. Created with the generous support of the H.W. Wilson Foundation and the Congregational Library & Archives in Boston, it incorporates EBSCO’s previously released American Doctoral Dissertations, and features additional dissertation metadata contributed by select colleges and universities from around the world. Providing researchers with citations to graduate research conducted from the early 20th century to the present time, this database will continue to grow through regular updates and new partnerships with graduate degree-granting institutions.

MasterFILE Reference eBook Collection

MasterFILE Reference eBook Collection is a companion eBook collection to the MasterFILE Premier database and contains nonfiction and reference books from top educational publishers, including Abdo Publishing Company, Cherry Lake Publishing, Crabtree Publishing, Lerner Publishing Group, Rourke Publishing and dozens of university presses.
