The National Invasive Species Council has provided sustained leadership coordinating interagency partners across Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Agricultural Research Service (ARS), and others to improve National approaches for detecting and managing aquatic invasive species entering through U.S. ports. This task team has developed workflows and protocols to enhance coordination and communication at ports of entry, strengthening National preparedness and coordinated response capacity to reduce invasive species risks.
