Biological Control

Invasive species cost the United States more than $20 billion each year. Most of these costs arise from damages caused by widely established species. Biological control is a cost-effective approach to reducing these costs and damages, but it is underused.

The National Invasive Species Council is working with experts from across the Federal Government to develop a Strategic Framework for Biological Control. The Framework will identify opportunities for Federal agencies to enhance biological control, from development to implementation and including both classical and genetic biocontrol.
