Silvia Riechel Idziorek

Chief Administrative Judge

Silvia Riechel Idziorek joined the Interior Board of Land Appeals as an administrative judge in 2016, and the Secretary of the Interior appointed her to serve as the Board’s Chief Administrative Judge in 2023. Before joining the Board, Chief Administrative Judge Idziorek worked in the Department of the Interior’s Office of the Solicitor. She served as the Assistant Solicitor for the Branch of Onshore Minerals and the Acting Deputy Assistant Solicitor for Petroleum and Offshore Resources, counseling the Bureau of Land Management and the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement in regulatory compliance and enforcement matters. Before joining the Department, Chief Administrative Judge Idziorek served as an officer in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps and as a judicial law clerk for the Ohio Court of Appeals. She is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Law and Miami University of Ohio, where she received a bachelor’s degree in physics.
