Andrew Havely has over 20 years of experience developing solutions, managing information technology, and designing and deploying technical architectures. Mr. Havely joined DOI's U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) in 2006 and served in several engineering and leadership roles, ultimately assuming the position of FWS Chief Technology Officer and senior technical adviser. During his time at FWS, he pursued avenues through which the use of technology can increase the effectiveness of communication, enable innovative, efficient information gathering and cataloging, and further advance both the Service and DOI missions.

In 2011, Mr. Havely joined DOI’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to lead the Solutions Design and Innovation Division. In this role, Mr. Havely was the primary technical architect behind DOI’s successful acquisition and move to Cloud-based email and collaboration services. In June 2016, Mr. Havely was selected as DOI’s Chief Technology Officer. In this role he is responsible for designing and implementing innovative technology to support DOI’s important missions.

Mr. Havely holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston and brings ten years of prior private sector experience to the Department.
