Secretary Zinke sends a heartfelt message to all of the Department of Interior first responders, scientists and inspectors who are providing critical and life-saving services in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

Hi I'm Secretary Ryan Zinke.

I know you're working hard with all our federal and state partners to rescue people and save lives, so I will make this brief.

I want you know that you have the full support of myself and the President, as well as every single member of the Interior family.

I also understand many of you have suffered your own losses during this disaster, yet day after day you are on the front line helping your fellow Americans during this time of crisis.

Your dedication to the job, to your community, and the state of Texas is a tribute to your prefessionalism and dedication to duty, honor, and country.

I could not be more proud to be your Secretary.

The Interior leadership team and I are monitoring the situation and working with the entire cabinet to make sure the State of Texas has everything it needs to perform your assigned tasks such as monitoring water levels, conducting search and rescue operations, and inspecting dams and critical infrastructure.

If there's anything more I can do, please do not hesitate to ask.

With wildfires still raging in the west and flood waters rising in Texas, I know our resources are stretched thin, and I appreciate everything you're doing.

Keep on fighting, never quit, and God bless.
