Federal Subsistence Board to Hold Work Session in Anchorage, July 26-27, 2022

The Federal Subsistence Board (Board) will hold a work session, July 26-27, 2022, beginning at 9:00 a.m. daily and adjourning at 5:00 p.m. or when the Board has completed its work.  The work session will be held in the Dimond Center Hotel, Chesloknu Conference Room, at 700 E. Dimond Blvd. in Anchorage.

During the work session, the Board will review the Regional Advisory Council annual report replies and the reply process, discuss the Ahtna Intertribal Resource Commission Community Hunt framework revision, Wildlife Temporary Special Action Request WSA22-02, Joint Yukon Regional Advisory Councils letter to the Board on salmon bycatch, Federal fisheries managers and delegations of authority, and hear a status update regarding the Sitka Kaagwaantaan petition for Secretarial extraterritorial jurisdiction. The Board may also discuss other business items.

Please be informed that per Department of the Interior guidance for in-person meetings, when the COVID-19 community level is medium or high as reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), all in-person attendees must provide information about their vaccination status. Attendees who are not fully vaccinated or who decline to provide information about their vaccination status must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken within three days prior to entering the event. When the COVID-19 level community is high, all persons must wear a mask regardless of their vaccination status. Before attending the meeting in-person, first, please check the COVID-19 community level at https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#datatracker-home for the municipality of Anchorage and second, be prepared to provide proof that you have been fully vaccinated or have a negative COVID-19 test result. Masking and physical distancing of all attendees regardless of COVID-19 community levels is encouraged. Masks will be provided at the door. 

The Federal Subsistence Board will also hold an executive session on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. This meeting will be closed to the public. The purpose of the meeting is to engage in attorney-client communications and discuss the Board’s recommendations to the Secretaries of the Interior and Agriculture on the Regional Advisory Council appointments. A summary of the executive session will be made available to the Federal Subsistence Regional Advisory Councils, and upon request, to the public.
