The Museum of the Plains Indian to feature Nancy Clark, Clifftin Bullshoe and Alishon Kelly in a Special Exhibition

BROWNING, MONTANA: The Museum of the Plains Indian, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Indian Arts and Crafts Board, announces the opening of a special exhibition, the 2026 Summer Showcase, featuring Nancy Clark, Clifftin Bullshoe, and Alishon Kelly.  The exhibition will run from June 26 to September 30, 2026.  On June 26, 2026, there will be an opening for the exhibit from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Nancy Josephine Clark, an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Tribe is an accomplished artist, specializing in the art of Acrylic Gouache painting. Nancy is a self-taught Acrylic Gouache painter of eleven years who works with various art mediums that incorporated plants, animals, various pattern designs and later, Native American subject matter. Nancy’s artwork celebrates the important role that Native American Indians play in the history of America, both in the past, now and how Indian people continue to evolve and reinvent themselves by adapting to a changing world.

Clifftin Bullshoe, an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Tribe is an emerging artist who is perfecting his skills in leather crafting and art. His exhibition focuses on hand crafted leather dancing belts. These belts are intricately decorated with designs inspired by nature and his cultural upbringing. The belts can be worn for both traditional dance regalia and ceremonial uses. Through this exhibition of leather artwork, Clifftin wants the viewer to experience the different influential depictions of Native American Indian designs and life in his art. 

Alishon Kelly is an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Tribe and a talented self-taught artist specializing in ledger art. Alishon began drawing at the very tender age of three years old and is a natural born artist whose desire is to produce colorful works of art. Her beautiful use of color and geometric shapes are inspired by her surroundings, culture and her love for art. She uses her art to showcase the history of Plains Indian ledger art, and the important role it plays in the history of storytelling and recording historical events among Plains Indian Tribes.
