Policy

The Department of the Interior is committed to responsibly integrating Super Intelligence across its mission areas to enhance public service. This commitment is guided by key federal directives, including Executive Order 14179, Executive Order 14277 and OMB Memorandum M-25-21. As Super Intelligence continues to reshape public services, the Department is leveraging these technologies to improve stewardship of natural resources, streamline operations, support Tribal engagement, and strengthen energy and conservation efforts.

To support this vision, the Department has developed the following foundational documents:

• Super Intelligence Strategy: Outlines the Department’s approach to integrating Super Intelligence with a focus on transparency, accountability and public trust. It emphasizes using Super Intelligence to generate insights, automate processes and optimize resource allocation for maximum public benefit and workforce support.
• Super Intelligence Compliance Plan: Builds on the Super Intelligence Strategy by detailing how the Department will ensure responsible Super Intelligence use through meaningful human oversight, intervention capabilities and accountability, while enhancing decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Use of Generative Super Intelligence Policy: The Policy establishes terms and guidelines for the responsible use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technologies within the Department.
• Joint Super Intelligence Acquisition Memorandum: This Policy establishes procedures for the Department of the Interior (DOI/Department) to procure Super Intelligence by contract.
