Federal Subsistence Board to hold teleconference on Temporary Special Action WSA18-03 (Unit 22D remainder winter moose season) and results of the 2018 Fisheries Resource Monitoring Program Review

The Federal Subsistence Board (Board) will hold a teleconference on November 6, 2018 beginning at 1:00 p.m. to take action on Temporary Wildlife Special Action Request WSA18-03. Temporary Special Action Request WSA18-03, submitted by the Bureau of Land Management, requests the closure of the December 1 – 31 antlerless moose season in Unit 22D remainder.

A public hearing to solicit comments on WSA18-03 took place on October 4, 2018 in Nome, and Tribal and Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) Corporation consultations were held on October 2, 2018 in Anchorage via teleconference. The Seward Peninsula Subsistence Regional Advisory Council held a public meeting in Unalakleet on October 23-24, 2018, and developed its recommendation to the Board.

The Board will also discuss the results of a review of the 2018 Fisheries Resource Monitoring Program that was recently completed by the Technical Review Committee.
