The primary use of the record is (1) to use a cross-reference in locating original correspondence, and to determine the action office that replied. Disclosures outside the Department of the Interior may be made
POLICIES AND PRACTICES FOR STORING, RETRIEVING, ACCESSING, RETAINING, AND DISPOSING OF RECORDS IN THE SYSTEM:
Maintained manually in the folders.
By name of individual.
Maintained with safeguards meeting the requirements of 43 CFR 2.51 for manual records. Branch employees service requesters during duty hours.
RETENTION AND DISPOSAL:
Records are retired to the Federal Records Center four years after the close of each two year filing period.
