Cartoon federal employee receiving event invitation

The Departmental Ethics Office (DEO) just released a new animated video, Widely Attended Gatherings. You can find the short video in the Department of the Interior (DOI) Ethics App’s Video Library, on OneINTERIOR, or on the DOI’s YouTube Channel.

This video discusses the ethics rules that need to be considered prior to accepting an invitation to a reception or widely attended gathering. The video also highlights the DEO’s DI-1958 Form, which employees must use to obtain permission to accept free attendance at a widely attended gathering. Finally, the video explains which events are not considered widely attended gatherings.

The DEO encourages you to reach out to a DEO ethics official with questions you may have or to discuss your specific situation.
