Bulletin: Public Hearing Announced for Temporary Wildlife Special Action Request WSA26-04, Establishing a Winter Moose Season in Unit 24A

The Gates of the Arctic National Park Subsistence Resource Commission requests the Federal Subsistence Board (Board) establish a winter moose hunt in Unit 24A within the Gates of the Arctic National Park from December 15 to April 15 with a one antlered bull harvest limit for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 regulatory years. The submitted request, WSA26-04, can be viewed at www.doi.gov/subsistence/pending-special-actions.   

A public hearing to receive testimony on WSA26-04 is scheduled on:

*Public hearings may end early or run late dependent on the level of public participation. Testimony time limits may also be imposed.

Comments received during the public hearing will be summarized and presented to the Board when it considers this request during its summer work session, August 4-5, 2026.
