Federal Subsistence Board to hold teleconference on Temporary Special Action WSA18-01 regarding Unimak Caribou

The Federal Subsistence Board (Board) will hold a teleconference on July 17, 2018 beginning at 9:00 a.m. to take action on Temporary Wildlife Special Action Request WSA18-01. Temporary Special Action Request WSA18-01, submitted by the Kodiak/Aleutians Subsistence Regional Advisory Council, requests the following from the Board:

Open a limited bull caribou hunt on Unimak Island, Unit 10, for Federally qualified subsistence users from the community of False Pass only. The proposed season would open August 15 and close October 15, 2018. Dependent upon the harvestable surplus, up to 10 bulls could be harvested by subsistence users. Permits would be issued by the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge Manager.
