Secretary Salazar to Rededicate Lincoln Memorial

TOMORROW, MAY 30, 2009, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar will take part in the Rededication Ceremony of the Lincoln Memorial at 2:25 p.m. and is expected to speak at approximately 3:30 p.m. The event, taking place during the bicentennial year of President Abraham Lincoln's birth, is the third and final event honoring the President.

What: Rededication Ceremony of the Lincoln Memorial
When: 2:25 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2009 with Secretary Salazar expected to speak at approximately 3:30 p.m. A weather call will be made 12 hours prior to the event to cancel in the event of inclement weather. Please operate under the premise that the event will occur unless the media are notified of a cancellation.
Where: On the plaza of the Lincoln Memorial, located at Independence Avenue and 23rd Street, N.W, between the western edge of the Reflecting Pool and the Lincoln Memorial.
Media:

Satellite and microwave truck parking must park on Daniel French Drive.
Parking is available on a first come first serve basis. Crew cars must park in designated, available public spaces. A press riser and mult box will be provided at the Lincoln Memorial. Media are requested to preset by 11:00 a.m. All cables must be covered to prevent tripping hazards.
Interviews will be available with guest speakers on-site, south of the VIP seating area at 1:30 p.m. and again after the event.
