Acting National Park Service Director Statement on update over Negotiations with Landowners over Flight 93 Lands

WASHINGTON, DC – Dan Wenk, Acting Director of National Park Service released the following statement today updating the progress over the Flight 93 Memorial lands:

“This week, the landowners, the Families of Flight 93 and the National Park Service have worked non-stop and in good faith to make remarkable progress in the negotiations over the Flight 93 memorial lands.

“I am extremely encouraged by how the negotiations have gone and I appreciate the spirit of these negotiations. The National Park Service, the landowners and the Families of Flight 93 will continue to work together throughout the weekend and we hope to have a more definitive announcement in the coming days.”

    National Park Service Expands Visitor Access at Denali National Park and Preserve

    The Department of the Interior and the National Park Service today announced a final rule updating vehicle use regulations on the Denali National Park Road to expand visitor access and bring the regulations in line with the park’s longstanding management plan. The action supports President Trump’s Executive Order 14314, “Making America Beautiful Again by Improving Our National Parks,” which calls for expanding opportunities for Americans to enjoy the nation’s public lands.
