Description

The risks posed by infrequent, but devastating, hurricane landfalls remains largely unconstrained due to the short length of robust historic records. Join U.S. Geological Survey Research Geologist Michael Toomey to learn how pre-historic hurricane events are preserved in coastal sedimentary deposits and what geologic records can tell us about storm activity along the U.S. East coast over the past several thousand years.
