Southern Plains Indian Museum to Open 2025 Fall Exhibition

ANADARKO, Okla. – The Southern Plains Indian Museum, administered by the Department of the Interior’s Indian Arts and Crafts Board, announced the opening of its 2025 fall exhibition, Newly Acquired Contemporary Works from the Southern Plains Indian Museum Collection.

The exhibition will feature two- and three-dimensional works from Native American artists of the Southwest, as well as the Northern and Southern Plains. It runs Sept. 8, 2025, through Jan. 8, 2026.

Artists whose work will be on display include Jack Anquoe Jr. (Kiowa), Beth Bush (Potawatomi), Nocona Burgess (Comanche), Tessa Doyebi-Robledo (Comanche), Chase “Kahwinhut” Earles (Caddo), Gordon Emhoolah (Kiowa), Darryl Growing Thunder (Assiniboine), Florence Manygoats (Navajo), Timothy Tate Nevaquaya (Comanche), Delores Purdy (Caddo), Gene “Ironman” Smith (Choctaw), Roy Talahaftewa (Hopi), Monroe Tsatoke (Kiowa) and Gordon Yellowman (Cheyenne).

The exhibition includes oil and acrylic paintings, narrative ledger drawings, and three-dimensional works such as beadwork, quillwork, silverwork, pottery and textiles.
