Donovin Sprague to Present Lecture on the Battle of Greasy Grass / Little Bighorn

RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA: Donovin Sprague, university instructor, author and historian, will present a lecture entitled, The Battle of Greasy Grass / Little Bighorn, on June 25, 2019, from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. This presentation will explore the historic battle from a Lakota perspective. The presentation is in conjunction with the Journey Museum’s Learning Forum Series.
 
Born and raised on the Cheyenne River Reservation, Donovin Sprague is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and a descendent of both Chief Hump and Crazy Horse. Mr. Sprague is currently a professor in the American Indian Studies program at Black Hills State University and a historic tour guide. He was recently awarded the 2015 Ziebach County Historian of the Year Award by the Ziebach County Historical Society. He is the author of 10 books, the most recent being Hump and Crazy Horse.
