On May 17 in Salt Lake City, Utah, AlejAndro Anastasio won the fourth round of the International Speech Competition. His next stop will be the Toastmasters World Championship of Speaking in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in August 2014.

AlejAndro has been a professional speaker for the past four years. “Although I was born with one hand, I choose to perceive all challenges as an opportunity for personal growth,” said AlejAndro. He caters his message of positive thinking to organizations, colleges, schools, festivals, and many local events, speaking to all ages from kids to adults.

AlejAndro has worked for the Bureau of Reclamation in the Pacific Northwest Regional Office for the past 15 years. As an illustrator and graphic designer his artistic creativity extends beyond his day-job duties.

In his personal time, AlejAndro is a national professional speaker. Additionally, he is part of Toastmasters International, the largest speaking organization in the world. AlejAndro's positive attitude through the years has propelled him to deliver a message of hope and inspiration to all who hear him speak and to all that meet him.

He has traveled extensively to share his message with a range of audiences. Most recently he was a guest speaker at the Emerald City Comicon in Seattle, Wash. AlejAndro has also spoken at events for the Bureau of Reclamation in Boise, Idaho; Denver, Colo.; and Washington, D.C.

Ninety speakers from around the world have advanced to the Toastmasters World Championship Speech competition in Malaysia. There will be nine semi-final rounds. The nine winners of each semi-final round will move on to the finals. The winner will hold the title of the 2014 World Champion of Speaking.
