A rugged, whitewater river flowing northward through deep canyons, the New River is among the oldest rivers on the continent. New River Gorge National River in West Virginia encompasses over 70,000 acres of land along the New River, is rich in cultural and natural history, and offers an abundance of scenic and recreational opportunities.
We are committed to strengthening law enforcement in Indian country by putting more officers on the streets, bolstering tribal courts and helping fight violent crime and drug abuse. Our Bureau of Indian Affairs' Office of Justice Services manages BIA's law enforcement, corrections and tribal courts programs. The OJS helps to preserve tribal sovereignty by supporting tribes in their efforts to ensure public safety, protect property and administer justice within their communities and reservations.
