In addition, the Board is asking for your comments on existing wildlife closures that will be reviewed by the Subsistence Regional Advisory Councils (Councils) and the Board during this wildlife cycle. The Office of Subsistence Management (OSM) is reviewing existing wildlife closures to determine whether the original justifications for closure continue to apply. Closure review analyses are being addressed by the Councils and the Board in the same manner as regulatory proposal analyses.

The book containing these proposals and wildlife closures is available on the Federal Subsistence Management Program’s website at https://www.doi.gov/subsistence/proposal/current. Printed copies may be requested by contacting OSM at (800) 478-1456 or (907) 786-3888.

Comments should reference the specific proposal number or wildlife closure number, and should be emailed to subsistence@fws.gov.  Those without email access may fax comments to

In addition to written comments, members of the public are welcome to testify at any Subsistence Regional Advisory Council (RAC) meeting. The RAC meeting schedule is available at https://www.doi.gov/subsistence/regions, or you may call OSM for meeting information. Members of the public can also give testimony at the Board meeting in April 2022.
