Description

In the four years since Hurricane Sandy struck the East Coast in October 2012, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and its partners have helped states and local communities restore local beaches and coastal habitats with sand from Federal waters, and have conducted research to prepare for future storms and become more resilient. Join Dr. Jeffrey Reidenauer, Chief, BOEM's Marine Minerals Branch, to learn about key projects and research made possible through Hurricane Sandy emergency funding and the environmental research used to minimize the environmental impacts of offshore sand dredging.
