The harvest limit is one bull moose per permit. Two permits will be made available to Federally qualified subsistence users by random drawing to be held on July 15, 2019. In order to qualify for the drawing, applicants must be rural residents of Units 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, and have lived in Alaska for the previous 12 months. Residents of nonrural areas of these units (the Juneau and Ketchikan areas) are not eligible for the drawing. Only one permit will be issued per household, and a household that received a State permit for Berners Bay moose is not eligible to receive a Federal permit.

To apply for the drawing, an application must be mailed or faxed to the Juneau Ranger District. Application forms are available from the Juneau Ranger District, and can be obtained by calling the District office at 907-586-8800. Applications must be received at the Juneau Ranger District office by 5:00 p.m. on July 1, 2019, to be eligible for the drawing. For additional information, contact Marci Johnson at 907-789-6253 or Jake Musslewhite at 907-789-6256.
