Description

President Obama recently designated several new national monuments administered by the BLM as part of the National Conservation Lands system. The speakers will discuss how these areas are managed under the principles of multiple use and sustained yield, through a framework that prioritizes conservation. A short movie, narrated by actor Edward Norton, will describe how BLM’s conservation mission has been evolving, the upcoming 50th anniversaries of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act and the National Trails System, and show examples of these superlative National Conservation Lands.
