Description

The Department of the Interior (DOI) is pursing innovative approaches to conservation and stewardship. The Natural Resource Investment Center (Center), inspired by President Obama’s Build America Investment Initiative, uses market-based tools and innovative public-private collaboration to conserve natural resources, enhance efficient water allocation, and promote increased investment in critical infrastructure in conjunction with the Department’s programs, bureaus, and offices. The Center is pursing non-federal partnerships among federal, state, local, and tribal governments, and private sector investors to increase investment in critical water infrastructure, water conservation and water supply resilience, and conservation of species, habitat, and other natural resources. The speakers will describe the challenges and opportunities of new, private approaches to investing in conservation.

Thomas Iseman, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office of Water and Science
