Subject: Public Service Recognition Week – May 3-9, 2015

The President and Congress have set aside the first full week of May as Public Service Recognition Week. It is a time to honor the work you do, day in and day out, as Federal Government employees.

On May 7, it will be my privilege to present awards at the 70th Honors Convocation of the Department of the Interior. The Convocation honors the employees who have made outstanding contributions to the mission of the Department. These employees have given us extraordinary examples of hard work, persistence, innovation, and courage.

I want to thank all of you for the work you do every day on behalf of our Nation. Your devotion to public service is an inspiration, and I am proud to serve with each of you.
