Inspector General Semi-Annual Report

To: All Department of the Interior Employees

From: Deputy Secretary David Bernhardt

Subject: Office of the Inspector General

Last December, I explained that one of the responsibilities of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) is to summarize its work every 6 months in a report to Congress. Here is the link to the most recent Semi-Annual Report to Congress issued by the OIG

The report linked here presents the work conducted by the OIG in the past 6 months, as well as statistical information about the breadth and results of that work. If, after reading this report, you have comments to share with the OIG, please do so at communications@doioig.gov.

As I mentioned in my first message to employees after arriving at the Department, the Principles of Ethical Conduct of Government Employees includes an obligation to disclose waste, fraud, abuse, and corruption to appropriate authorities, which includes the Office of the Inspector General. Therefore, if you have concerns about fraud, waste, abuse, or mismanagement in Department and its programs and operations, you may report those through the OIG Hotline at .
