Employee Resources during the Global Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic

The DOI All Employee COVID-19 Information Portal remains an excellent source of information as we all adjust to working under changing circumstances. I’d like to call your attention to some important items recently added to the portal.

1. Guidelines on Opening America Up Again: OPM has issued a Memorandum and Frequently Asked Questions summarizing how the plan to return Federal government operations to normalcy parallels the National Guidelines for Opening Up America Again. The Department and your bureaus will issue specific implementation guidance for specific locations in the near future.
2. Quick Reference on Masks and Face Coverings:  The Office of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) has developed a quick reference resource to assist employees with identifying different types of respirator, masks, and face covering being used during the current COVID-19 pandemic. This chart provides information about the different types of devices and their intended use.
3. COVID-19 Prevention in Multi-Passenger Vehicles: OSH has released new guidance to reduce the risk of employees contracting COVID-19 while riding in shared vehicles. This information, which is applicable to cars, trucks, aircrafts, and other vehicles, aligns with recently updated recommendations issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
4. DOI Employees are Making a Difference: Our colleagues around the nation have stepped up in many ways during the pandemic crisis – not only by ensuring that we meet our DOI mission but also by giving back within their communities. We are will be featuring them in the Employee Spotlight.
5. Telework Tips and Best Practices: As we remain on maximum telework, the Telework section of the Employee Portal continues to add helpful tips for connecting with colleagues, staying safe while online and keeping your technology updated.
