Christensen joins CUPCA from the Bureau of Reclamation, where he previously served as the Deputy Area Manager of the Provo Area Office for the Upper Colorado Basin Region. He oversaw critical programs including dam safety, reservoir operations and emergency management. He was also responsible for directing Provo’s technical services, including construction and construction management, geotechnical investigation and material testing.

He was selected as Reclamation’s Upper Colorado Basin Region Engineer of the Year in 2018 and was awarded the Superior Service Award in 2023. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Utah.

Over the last 20 years, he has worked collaboratively with water users, contractors, and state and local partners to complete dozens of projects to develop new water storage and conveyance infrastructure, and to replace or rehabilitate aging water and hydropower infrastructure for improved resiliency and sustainability.
