The United States Government has many deep and long-standing obligations to Native Americans, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and other Indigenous Peoples whose ancestors have called the U.S. home since time immemorial. The Department of the Interior is the federal agency with primary responsibilities for many of these obligations. The Office of Policy Analysis (PPA) helps advance this part of the Department’s mission by providing policy and economic analysis and program coordination across issues that affect Indian Country. Key areas of engagement for PPA include:

  • Indigenous Knowledges
  • Co-stewardship
  • Indian Country data and statistics
  • Integrating Native American issues in policies
