On October 13, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke traveled to Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona .

While at the park, Secretary Zinke met with the Superintendent, held a livestreamed town hall meeting with NPS employees across the department, and met with other front lines staff to learn more about the park and its unique challenges.

Secretary Zinke, Acting NPS Director Mike Reynolds, and Superintendent Chris Lehnertz hosted an all-NPS employee town hall style meeting about the Department's work to combat harassment in the workplace. 

NPS employees from all over the country were able to ask questions using an anonymous forum.

Secretary Zinke met with members of the small business community to get their input on park operations and its economic impact 

The Secretary also received a briefing on the Fire ​and Aviation Program and Visitor ​and Resource Protection​.

The last stop of the day...greeting park-goers at the South Rim entrance station​ 

Before departing, Secretary Zinke saw the majesty of the Grand Canyon with an 18-mile hike from the South Rim to the Colorado River and back again.
