A rugged, whitewater river flowing northward through deep canyons, the New River is among the oldest rivers on the continent. New River Gorge National River in West Virginia encompasses over 70,000 acres of land along the New River, is rich in cultural and natural history, and offers an abundance of scenic and recreational opportunities.
Northwest Arctic Subsistence Regional Advisory Council Meeting Rescheduled
The Northwest Arctic Subsistence Regional Advisory Council meeting previously set for February 18-19 in Kotzebue has been rescheduled. The meeting will now take place on March 25-26 at the Northwest Arctic Heritage Center in Kotzebue. The meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. on March 25 and 9:00 a.m. on March 26.
The Council will develop proposals to change Federal subsistence regulations for the harvest of fish and shellfish and discuss other issues related to subsistence in the Northwest Arctic Region.
