A rugged, whitewater river flowing northward through deep canyons, the New River is among the oldest rivers on the continent. New River Gorge National River in West Virginia encompasses over 70,000 acres of land along the New River, is rich in cultural and natural history, and offers an abundance of scenic and recreational opportunities.
Federal Subsistence Board Work Session (1/14/14) and Retreat (1/15/14)
The Federal Subsistence Board will be meeting on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 to consider Fisheries Resource Monitoring Program proposals across Alaska as well as to get updates on several issues that the Regional Advisory Councils have been working on. On Wednesday, January 15 the Board is having a retreat.

These meetings will be at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Regional Office at 1011 E. Tudor Road in Anchorage, most of which will be open to the public. The Board has one issue that it needs to address during an executive session at the end of the day on Wednesday.
