WASHINGTON, D.C. - Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne and District of Columbia Mayor Adrian Fenty will be joined by local leaders, including Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, District of Columbia Council Chairman Vincent Gray and representatives of the Washington Nationals and the Fort Dupont Ice Arena, to announce the transfer of lands from the federal government to the District. The announcement will highlight the benefits to the District from the transfer of these federal lands.
The announcement will take place at the Fort Dupont Ice Arena at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2008.
