Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne will address the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) 64th Annual Convention, via satellite, on Wednesday, November 14.
The event, at the Hyatt Regency at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colo., is the largest annual meeting of tribal representatives in the country.
In his remarks, Secretary Kempthorne will discuss the Safe Indian Communities Initiative and the Improving Indian Education Initiative, both part of President Bush’s proposed 2008 budget, unveiled in February by Secretary Kempthorne at the Department of the Interior.
Secretary Kempthorne attended and addressed the NCAI convention in-person last year in Sacramento.
