Director of Business Operations Division
Mark H. Davis has almost 37 years of federal service, supporting both the U.S. Department of the Interior (Interior) and the USDA Forest Service.
His time at Interior has been extensive, working in four different organizations over nearly 35 years. Mr. Davis also spent two years at the USDA Forest Service, serving as Chief of Staff to the Budget Officer, which included a stint as a Congressional Fellow on the staff of the US Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior and Related Agencies.
Mr. Davis started his career at Interior in the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). He spent 20 years with the BLM, working in supervisory/staff positions at field offices in Mississippi, California, and Nevada and then working in the BLM budget office at the Washington Office. In 2002, he joined Interior’s Office of Budget as an analyst, and in 2007 he was selected as the Chief of Budget Formulation for the Department.
In 2012, Mr. Davis joined the Office of the Special Trustee (OST) for American Indians. In OST, he served as the Deputy Special Trustee for Business Management, responsible for business operations including human resources, budget and finance, external affairs, and information technology.
In October 2016, Mr. Davis was selected as the Office of the Chief Information Officer’s (OCIO) Director of Business Operations Division (BOD) after acting in this position for one year. Mr. Davis has a Master’s of Science degree in Wildlife Management from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. He has an Undergraduate degree in Biology, with minors in General Science and Chemistry.
