Secretary Salazar to Join Senator Boxer for Salton Sea Tour
Will Visit National Wildlife Refuge, Discuss Ongoing Restoration Efforts in Imperial Valley
SALTON CITY, CA— On Friday, December 14, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar will join U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer to tour the Sonny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge area, located in California's Imperial Valley. Secretary Salazar and Senator Boxer will also be joined by Congressman-elect Raul Ruiz, Assistant Secretary for Water and Science Anne Castle, Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner Michael Connor, other federal, state, local officials and stakeholders to discuss restoration efforts in the area and ongoing efforts to build a sustainable water future for the state and people of California.
