Salazar and Atlantic State Leaders to Announce Major Offshore Wind Initiative

BALTIMORE, MD - Today, November 23, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, Deputy Secretary David J. Hayes and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE) Director Michael R. Bromwich will announce a major new initiative to accelerate the responsible siting and development of wind energy projects along the Atlantic coast. Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley, Senator Thomas Carper, Senator Christopher Coons, and Jim Lanard, President of the Offshore Wind Development Coalition will join in the announcement.
