Deputy Secretary Scarlett to Showcase Preserve America Award
to City of Sacramento at Leland Stanford Mansion

Deputy Secretary of the Interior Lynn Scarlett and City of Sacramento Mayor Heather Fargo will gather with other officials and dignitaries on Aug. 11 at the Leland Stanford Mansion to celebrate the Preserve America Community designation awarded to Sacramento. Scarlett will present the city with a designation certificate signed by First Lady Laura Bush, Honorary Chair of Preserve America.

This Preserve America award provides national recognition for a community's work to preserve, protect and celebrate the unique history and heritage it contains. The award also enhances the contribution of heritage tourism and other economic development strategies.
