WASHINGTON, D.C. – Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne will deliver the keynote address to the National Association of State Park Directors’ and National Park Service Leadership Council’s Conference in Williamsburg, VA on Wednesday, September 5, 2007.
Secretary Kempthorne will discuss recent efforts to enhance conservation and recreation at parks across the country, as well as focus on the need to combat “nature deficit disorder” in children. The Secretary will highlight efforts under way at parks to reconnect kids to nature and the numerous physical and psychological benefits that brings with it.
