Secretary Kempthorne to Present at the 2007 Take Pride in America® National Awards Ceremony

WASHINGTON, D.C. - ­­Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne will join USA Freedom Corps Acting Director Kathy Wills Wright and Take Pride in America Executive Director Heather Roebke in recognizing the outstanding achievements of the 2007 Take Pride in America National Award winners.

Secretary Kempthorne will be presenting awards to 18 organizations, partnerships and individuals from 12 different states and the District of Columbia representing exceptional examples of stewardship.

The 12 states are Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Virginia.

Take Pride in America® is a national partnership program aimed at increasing volunteer service on America’s public lands.
