WASHINGTON -- Interior Assistant Secretary Steve Allred will deliver keynote remarks to the Western Mining Conference on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, in Denver, Colorado.
Assistant Secretary Allred, who oversees land and minerals management agencies at Interior, will discuss the mining industry’s role in public land and energy policy initiatives. His remarks begin at 9 a.m. A media availability will be held immediately after his presentation.
The conference, a joint meeting of the Colorado Mining Association and the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration, will be held at the Colorado Convention Center.
