Assistant Secretary of the Interior Rebecca Watson to Address Solar Energy 2004 Annual Meeting in San Francisco, Oct. 21

 

WASHINGTON-Rebecca Watson, assistant secretary of the Interior for Land and Minerals Management will address the plenary session of the Solar Energy 2004 Annual Meeting in San Francisco, Calif., on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004.

"Energy production and environmental protection are not competing priorities," Watson said. "Our national energy strategy includes not only enhancing supplies of renewable and nonrenewable energy, but also places an important focus on conservation."

Assistant Secretary Watson will join solar energy experts from around the country to discuss the important role the Interior Department play in the development of the nation's renewable energy. She will also address future initiatives for solar energy and other renewable energy resources on public lands.
